It’s not what you know that matters, it’s knowing what you don’t

In the digital world all the knowledge and information we could want is at our fingertips. There isn’t really very much we can’t find online.

This should come as a huge relief. We no longer need to pressure ourselves to retain information, the majority of it meaningless and useless anyway. If we need to access it, it’s there.

This levels the playing field to some degree because we all have equal access to most of this information. So if you were an 80’s pop trivia marvel reveling for the last thirty years in your glorious retention of minutae, sorry mate we all have that knowledge now.

This leaves us with another problem then.

What do we really know?

What do we truly know to be true?

Who are we when we take away our trivia and dependence on knowledge and intellect?

You know what I think we are? I think we are free.
